Dr. Joppich is a Licensed Psychologist who received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Tennessee State University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center/Department of Veterans Affairs Consortium with a concentration in veterans’ mental health and her post-doctoral residency at Athena with a specialization in psychological testing. Dr. Joppich’s main clinical focus is psychological testing and she performs a variety of assessments for individuals of all ages including diagnostic assessments for ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, dementia/Alzheimer’s disease, etc. She also conducts specialty assessments including pre-surgical evaluations (i.e. organ transplant/donation, bariatric surgery), pre-employment evaluations (i.e. police, military, first responders), and some forensic evaluations (i.e. parenting, psychological). Dr. Joppich maintains a small therapy caseload consisting primarily of adults and adolescents with psychotic disorders. She conceptualizes treatment for this population from a psychosocial recovery model, which emphasizes individuals’ strengths and abilities to meet their goals and lead productive lives. She is especially interested in the treatment of auditory hallucinations for schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. Dr. Joppich also enjoys providing therapy to older adults for depression, anxiety, and general aging issues.

Maya the German Shepherd and Desmond the Rhodesian Ridgeback are therapy dogs that take turns coming to work with Dr. Joppich and provide comfort and support to clients who wish to spend time with them during sessions. Please note that therapy dogs do not need to be present during session if preferred.
