Dr. Joan Popkin, PhD., – Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Nationally Certified School Psychologist, and Professor

Dr. Popkin is a Licensed Psychologist and Associate Professor. She earned her M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her post-doctoral experiences included working with the autism assessment team, counseling children and families, and collaborating with school staff and students. She is a generalist treating a variety of conditions across the life span. Her clinical interests and experiences include anxiety and depressive disorders, childhood disorders, women’s health issues, issues regarding racial and ethnic identity, relationship and family issues, as well as consultation services for children and families. She conducts individual counseling as well as a variety of psychological testing. Dr. Popkin is an advocate for positive mental and physical health as well as overall well-being for all populations ranging from early childhood through older adulthood and incorporating these aspects in their daily lives. She believes in the integration of diverse services to enhance optimal interventions for children, youth and adults.
