Lori Ball, RN, APRN

Lori is a dually board certified Nurse Practitioner, specializing in both psychiatry and family medicine. She has worked in a wide variety of psychiatric settings since 1984 as both a Registered Nurse and an Advance Practice Registered Nurse. She completed her Master of Science at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1991 and her post Masters at Belmont University in 2011.  She works with patients across the lifespan including children, adolescents and adults who present with mood disorders, addictions and relational failures.
She considers the whole person including their family system during the evaluation and treatment process and believes that intentional living which feeds the mind, body and soul is the ultimate healing balm. Lori has a specific interest in “The Blue Zones Story” as it relates to individuals and communities being transformed and living longer, stronger lives and asserts that true self care is more than psychiatric therapies.
Since her time at Vanderbilt Medical Center on the Psychiatric Consultation Service Lori has maintained targeted interests in treating complex, co-morbid conditions which are manifested in maladaptive behavioral patterns. She is most hopeful for change “when we are all in,” counting upon the individual patient, their family, and other members of the treatment team to be equally invested in authentic change.
Currently, Lori maintains a private practice, as well as acting as preceptor/clinical faculty for several graduate nursing school and mentoring newly graduated Family Nurse Practitioners.
