Tiyana Chaney, LCSW
Tiyana Chaney is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 10 years of experience working with adolescents, and adults in community, crisis, and treatment settings. She has an extensive background in working with people of color, those experiencing poverty and marginalized populations. Her therapeutic approach is integrative and combines client-centered therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and strength-based counseling techniques.
Tiyana Chaney earned a Master’s of Science in Social Work from Georgia State University in 2017 after graduating from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a Bachelors in Psychology, and a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. She received her License Master of Social Work (LMSW) designation shortly after graduating in 2017, and became fully licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in 2020 in the states of Tennessee and Georgia. She is currently a third-year student, finishing her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Tennessee State University.
Tiyana has experience in the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, phase of life changes, stress management and women’s issues. Tiyana uses an integrative holistic approach that is multiculturally driven in her work with clients, allowing them to be the experts of their experiences while helping them to identify and correct maladaptive thought patterns that lead to undesired behaviors. Tiyana utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and adjunctive Mindfulness therapies to help clients reach their full potential. Tiyana provides psychotherapy services as well as psychological assessment services under the supervision of a licensed psychologist at this organization.
